Dr. Hannon is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He has a particular interest in rapid recovery protocols, partial knee replacement, robotic-assisted joint replacement, anterior hip replacement, and complex primary and revision hip and knee replacements. Dr. Hannon focuses on individualizing treatment to each patient to provide the best possible care and outcomes for his patients.

Dr. Hannon earned his undergraduate degree at Villanova University, where he was elected to The Phi Beta Kappa Society and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biology. He graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society as well as the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Dr. Hannon completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He received multiple awards for excellence in leadership, clinical care, and research. During his orthopedic surgery residency training, Dr. Hannon also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Dr. Hannon pursued an additional year of training in lower extremity adult reconstruction at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. This year was dedicated to specializing in advanced reconstructive surgical care of hip and knee conditions.

Dr. Hannon is dedicated to advancing the field of hip and knee replacement through research, education and leadership. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research nationally and internationally. He has received multiple grants and research awards, including the prestigious American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) James A. Rand Young Investigator’s Award for his research on reducing opioid use after hip and knee replacement. He currently serves as the co-lead investigator for the AAHKS clinical practice guideline on pain control and anesthesia in hip and knee replacement. He is an AAHKS Health Policy Fellow and serves as a peer reviewer for multiple orthopaedic journals.
